the team behind the project

Based on the values of Creutz & Partners, Yves Creutz came up with the innovative idea for the realisation of Creutz(&)Friends: a personal project close to his heart in the form of a contemporary, constantly changing exhibition concept.

For this matter, a skilled team was assembled based on their expertise, passion, and alignment with a creative team spirit. Each member was chosen not only for their individual talents but also for their ability to collaborate seamlessly, fostering an environment conducive to creativity and innovation.

Together, they brought Creutz(&)Friends to life, combining their diverse perspectives and talents to realize Yves Creutz's vision.

When Yves first told me about this project, I had a clear idea of my role. With my background in various sectors, including the social sector and most recently the cultural sector in Luxembourg, I felt very much at home in this environment. An innovative project that is both a meeting point for exchange between artists, craftspeople and designers, and for artists, a place where creative people can share their experiences and support and help each other.

As project manager and responsible for marketing and event management at Creutz & Partners, I see my role as representing our values at Creutz(&)Friends. For me, the focus here is on creativity and the exchange with the artists, as well as within our team. Good communication is the only key to the progress and advancement of the project and each individual. I find the contact with the artists and also in our team very enriching. I am very grateful for the pleasant collaboration with Rachel, Eric and Tom. We see the project through different eyes and it is precisely these different perspectives that shape it and contribute to its diversity and precision.

MAYBE YES / MAYBE NO

The Creutz(&)Friends project emerged from a pre-existing friendship with Yves. I immediately envisioned how the concept and the space could be authentically expressed. I began crafting plans to restore the space‘s original aesthetics, rooted in its historical significance as the backdrop to the royal palace. Behind the tapestry, we uncovered relics from past renovations, providing insight into its evolution. Central to my vision was the creation of an environment featuring modular elements, enabling diverse exhibitors to effortlessly showcase their art and products, thus infusing the space with vitality without compromising its versatility.

As the creative director behind the project and a practicing artist myself, supporting creators in their artistic endeavors is a paramount objective. I drew inspiration from my personal experiences and observations over the past decade. Recognizing a gap in Luxembourg’s infrastructure for modular spaces tailored to the needs of artists, artisans, and creatives. My goal was to provide a platform where individuals at various stages of their artistic development could showcase their work without the constraints of a do-it-yourself aesthetic.

Within the realm of programming, my keen interest lies in nurturing the talents of young individuals, as I see reflections of my own journey in them. With Creutz(&)Friends we have the privilege of functioning as a trampoline, of providing them a platform to showcase their talents, bring their work to the forefront, and engage directly with their audience.

In my role of shaping the program, it feels like assisting friends in taking significant strides forward. Simultaneously, collaborating with the Creutz(&)Friends team is symbiotic on every layer. Therefore, the project not only embodies the concept of supporting friends but also of consistently working alongside them — a guiding principle that strengthens the bond between both entities.

In the creational realm of Creutz(&)Friends, I had the privilege of joining a team that immediately conveyed the sense that we had found the ideal collaborators to work on this new project. Our ideas seamlessly merged, our suggestions complemented each other and we shared a mutual dedication for bringing this particular concept to life.

Besides the enriching team dynamic that I encountered, undertaking the visual identity and conceptual definition for this project tempted me because of the inherent challenge it presented. How does one go about designing an identity for a concept where each exhibitor already possesses a distinct identity? Each exhibitor has mastered their own use of color in communication and developed their own stylistic elements. Moreover, each contributor operates within a different field, offering diverse products and embodying a different personality.

The objective of a joint project like this transcends the mere presentation of individual exhibitors in isolation; rather, it aspires to forge a collective identity standing for something greater.

In this way, I developed a visual framework that allows exhibitors to preserve their distinct identity within the overall exhibition identity.

The understanding of this need was reflected in the team I am fortunate to work with. Through the exchange of ideas and thoughtful implementations, the concept of Creutz(&)Friends has transformed into the great project it is today.

The idea of a project centred around community, and more importantly friendship, really appealed to me. I have always firmly believed that for me, my ventures should embody a spirit of giving in various forms.

It gives me great pleasure to pass on my knowledge about topics that are close to my heart. When the concept of Creutz(&)Friends came up, it immediately appealed to me. The emphasis on sharing became the cornerstone of the project and quickly got me excited. As the discussions progressed, it became clear that I could contribute not only through my photography, but also by fostering a collaborative environment within the FRIENDS community.

The dynamic within our team developed organically. What fascinated me the most was not just my role in the project, but the collaborative synergy between us. Every voice is valued, every contribution carefully considered, all with the common goal of moving the project forward.

Working with Rachel, Julia and Eric collaboratively in our meetings is an uplifting experience. It‘s a space full of creativity and openness to new ideas - qualities that fit seamlessly into the Creutz(&)Friends ecosystem.

Above all, it‘s the friendship and camaraderie that forms the heartbeat of our interactions.
